Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 diced yellow onion along with a pinch of salt. Sauté for about 10 minutes until softened and translucent. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and continue to cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until deep golden brown.
  2. Transfer the caramelized onions to a mixing bowl. Combine ¼ cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, and ½ teaspoon garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until smooth and season with salt and pepper to taste before setting aside.
  3. Shape 1 pound of ground beef into patties, seasoning each side with kosher salt and pepper. In the same skillet, increase heat to medium-high. Cook patties for 2-3 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
  4. Assemble the Burger Bowls by laying a bed of chopped romaine in each bowl. Place a cooked burger patty on top, add crispy roasted potatoes or French fries on the side, drizzle caramelized onion aioli over the burger, and top with fresh tomato slices.
