Method
 

Preparation

  3. Incorporate 1–2 teaspoons of freshly cracked black pepper into the mixture, adjusting according to taste.
  4. Stir in 1–2 tablespoons of vinegar or lemon juice, tasting as you go to balance the richness.
  5. If using, mix in minced garlic and Dijon mustard, stirring well to blend.
  6. Taste the mixture and add salt sparingly to enhance flavors without overpowering.
  7. Transfer the dressing into an airtight jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
