Ingredients
  

For the Falafel Mixture
  • 1 cup Dried Chickpeas Soak for 12-24 hours
  • 1 cup Fresh Parsley Include stems for vibrancy
  • 1 cup Fresh Cilantro Can substitute with more parsley or fresh mint
  • 1 medium Onion Any variety, halved
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Dill Weed
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar Optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper Optional
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil Can substitute with other oils
For Serving
  • 1/2 cup Tahini Sauce A creamy dip for pairing
  • 2 cups Fresh Vegetables Like cucumbers and tomatoes
  • 4 pieces Pita Bread or Wraps

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Air Fryer Falafel
  1. Start by soaking 1 cup of dried chickpeas in plenty of water for 12-24 hours. Drain and rinse thoroughly.
  2. In a blender, blend soaked chickpeas until mostly smooth but slightly chunky.
  3. Add parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, baking powder, black pepper, dill, sugar, and cayenne to the blender. Blend until smooth.
  4. Combine the blended mixture with chickpeas in a mixing bowl, and mix gently.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil. Form the mixture into golf ball-sized rounds.
  6. Set the air fryer to 370°F (190°C) and cook for 15 minutes, turning halfway through.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and serve hot with tahini sauce and fresh vegetables.
