  • 1 small Onion
  • 2 whole Red Chilies optional
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Green Onions for garnish

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice the Beef: Begin by slicing the beef sirloin or flank steak into thin strips against the grain for tenderness.
  2. Prepare the Batter: Combine cornstarch, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Add egg and water; stir until smooth.
  3. Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering; check readiness by dropping a small amount of batter.
  4. Fry the Beef: Coat beef strips in batter, fry in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
  5. Sauté the Aromatics: In a wok, heat sesame oil, add garlic, ginger, onion, and bell pepper; sauté for 2 minutes.
  6. Make the Sauce: Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, chili sauce, and sugar; simmer for 2 minutes to thicken.
  7. Combine the Beef and Sauce: Add crispy beef to the sauce, toss to coat, stir-fry for an additional 2–3 minutes.
