- In a mixing bowl, toss together the cranberries, granulated sugar, orange zest, and vanilla extract until well coated. Pour into a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add the softened butter and blend until resembling coarse crumbs. Mix in the beaten egg until combined.
- Dollop the topping evenly over the cranberry filling in the baking dish.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
