  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Provides savory depth; essential for flavor enhancement.
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt Enhances overall taste; adjust for a milder flavor if preferred.
  • 1 cup Unbleached All-Purpose Flour or Whole-Wheat Pastry Flour Acts as the main structure for the crackers.

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (176°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, combine the dry ingredients: nutritional yeast, garlic powder, sea salt, unbleached all-purpose flour, oat flour, yellow cornmeal, and baking powder if you're using it. Pulse on high for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add your choice of olive oil or vegan butter to the dry mixture in the food processor. Pulse together for about 15 seconds.
  4. Gradually pour cold water into the food processor, one tablespoon at a time, while pulsing the mix until a loose dough forms.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a disc and roll it out to approximately 1/8 inch thickness.
  6. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the rolled-out dough into small squares and transfer them onto the baking sheet.
  7. Bake your Vegan Cheez Its in the preheated oven for 12-17 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown.
  8. After removing from the oven, let the Vegan Cheez Its cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
