- Wash the pickling cucumbers under cool water thoroughly and slice them into rounds or spears.
- Clean two 16-ounce mason jars and ensure they are dry.
- Layer cucumber slices or spears loosely in the jars, leaving space at the top for brine.
- Divide the fresh dill evenly among the jars, scattering it among the cucumbers.
- In a medium bowl, combine water, vinegar, pickling spices, sugar, and salt; stir until dissolved.
- Pour the brine over the packed cucumbers making sure they are fully submerged.
- Place a whole garlic clove in each jar, submerging it in the brine.
- Seal the jars tightly with lids and refrigerate for at least 24 hours for best flavor.
