Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Simple Syrup
  1. Combine 2 cups of fresh strawberries, 1 cup of water, and 1 cup of granulated sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir gently to incorporate ingredients.
  2. Continue stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Bring to a low boil and let it boil for approximately 1 minute.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently and mashing softened strawberries occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and cool the mixture for 5–10 minutes.
  5. Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve over a heat-proof bowl, mashing remaining pulp with a spoon.
  6. Transfer the strained syrup into a clean glass jar, allow to cool completely at room temperature and store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
