Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Simple Syrup
- Combine 2 cups of fresh strawberries, 1 cup of water, and 1 cup of granulated sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir gently to incorporate ingredients.
- Continue stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Bring to a low boil and let it boil for approximately 1 minute.
- Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently and mashing softened strawberries occasionally.
- Remove from heat and cool the mixture for 5–10 minutes.
- Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve over a heat-proof bowl, mashing remaining pulp with a spoon.
- Transfer the strained syrup into a clean glass jar, allow to cool completely at room temperature and store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
