Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 3/4 cup of brown sugar for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then pour in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in 1 to 2 cups of chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed.
  6. Spread the cookie dough evenly into your prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
