Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add one pound of hamburger meat and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it browns. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in one can each of drained kidney beans and chili beans, allowing to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, layer about 4 cups of chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce and 1-2 cups of diced tomatoes.
  4. Add the warm meat and bean mixture to the bowl with lettuce and tomatoes, gently toss to combine.
  5. Fold in about 2 cups of crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos.
  6. Spoon the salad onto plates and optionally top with shredded sharp cheddar cheese and other toppings before serving.
