Step-by-Step Instructions for Restaurant-Worthy Bread Dipping Oil
- In a stainless steel skillet, pour in ⅔ cup of extra virgin olive oil and place it over medium heat. Allow the oil to warm gently for about 2 minutes, watching for a slight shimmer on the surface.
- Once the oil is warm, stir in 3 tablespoons of finely chopped Kalamata olives and 2 tablespoons of sun-dried tomatoes. Add in 1 tablespoon each of thinly sliced basil, chopped rosemary, and chopped capers, along with ½ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally until fragrant.
- Add 3 cloves of chopped garlic and ½ teaspoon of lemon zest. Swirl the pan gently for about 1 minute, allowing the garlic to cook until golden.
- Transfer the hot mixture into a serving bowl, then mix in ¼ cup of aged balsamic vinegar, ½ teaspoon of kosher salt, and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
