For the Bake
  • 10-11 oz French Bread, cubed About 3/4 of a loaf
  • 2 cups Cream Can substitute with milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Molasses Can substitute dark corn syrup
  • 1 tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 6 whole Eggs Or 11 egg yolks for richness
For the Eggnog Syrup
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Adjust to preference
  • 1 cup Eggnog
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Clove
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch or 8x8 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together eggs, cream, sugar, molasses, ground cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and salt until combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread cubes, allowing to soak for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Bake for 40-50 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Mix together all eggnog syrup ingredients in a small bowl and refrigerate until ready.
  7. Once baked, cool for a few minutes and drizzle with eggnog syrup before serving.
