  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch Can be replaced with flour.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Hamburger Stew
  1. Heat the oil by heating 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Brown the beef by adding the ground beef to the pot and browning without stirring for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sauté the vegetables by stirring in 1-inch cubes of potatoes, chopped carrots, diced onion, and minced garlic.
  4. Combine the ingredients by adding a can of diced tomatoes, 4 cups of beef broth, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, and dried herbs.
  5. Simmer until tender by reducing the heat and letting the stew simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Thicken the stew by combining cornstarch with cold water and adding to the stew.
