  2. Combine diced apples with 3 cups of sugar in a bowl, cover, and let sit for at least 2 hours.
  3. In a pot, combine the macerated apple mixture and 2 cups of cranberries. Cook over medium-high heat for about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and ladle hot jam into jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace.
  5. Process jars in a water bath canner for 10 minutes, cool on a towel or rack for 12-24 hours.
