Ingredients
  

For the Marinade
  • 0.25 cup olive oil or avocado oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons paprika smoked paprika is a great alternative
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric can be omitted
  • 1 teaspoon coriander or substitute with parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • 4 cloves minced garlic fresh is best
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
For the Garlic Sauce
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 0.5 tablespoon lemon juice fresh lemon is best
  • to taste salt
For the Chicken
  • 1.5 pounds chicken cut into strips

Method
 

Steps
  1. In a large bowl, combine ¼ cup olive oil, 2 teaspoons cumin, 2 teaspoons paprika, 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon coriander, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, 4 cloves of minced garlic, and the juice of 1 lemon. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Cut 1.5 pounds of chicken into strips and add to the marinade, tossing to coat. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or pan over medium-high heat and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Cook the chicken strips on each side for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup mayonnaise, 2 cloves minced garlic, juice of ½ lemon, and a pinch of salt.
  7. Serve warm in pita or on a plate, drizzling garlic sauce generously over the top.

Notes

For juiciness, cook whole chicken pieces before slicing. Marinate overnight for best flavor. Can also bake at 425°F for 20-25 minutes.
