Step-by-Step Instructions for Crock-Pot Apple Butter
- Start by peeling and roughly chopping 6 lbs of your favorite apples. Place the chopped apples into your Crock-Pot, allowing them to fill the pot halfway for even cooking.
- Sprinkle 3 cups of white sugar along with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt over the apples. Gently mix everything together with a wooden spoon.
- Cover your Crock-Pot with a lid and set it to HIGH. Allow the apple mixture to cook for about 8 to 10 hours.
- Once the apples are soft, carefully remove the lid and continue to cook on HIGH, stirring occasionally for another 1 to 2 hours.
- Using an immersion blender, blend the softened apple mixture until it reaches a smooth and velvety consistency.
- If the apple butter needs a bit more reduction, leave the lid off and switch to the LOW setting. Continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- Carefully transfer the hot apple butter into sterile canning jars using a ladle. Seal them immediately to preserve freshness.
