  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 inch square pan lined with foil and greased.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1/2 cup of butter for about 1 minute.
  3. Whisk in 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of light brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats, and a pinch of salt to the mixture and stir gently.
