  • 1/4 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
  • 2 cloves minced garlic fresh or garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger fresh preferred
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil or olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
For the Steak
  • 1 pound sirloin or flank steak substitute with chicken, pork, or tofu if desired
For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons green onions sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  2. Add the sirloin or flank steak, ensuring it’s well coated with the marinade. Cover and let marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat, adding a splash of oil until it shimmers.
  4. Add the marinated steak bites in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until caramelized and cooked to desired doneness.
  5. Transfer to a platter, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve warm.
