Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine Italian dressing, BBQ sauce, minced garlic, and brown sugar in a large glass dish. Stir until consistent and brown sugar dissolves.
  2. Coat the strip steaks generously with the marinade and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, ideally up to 24 hours.
  3. Remove steaks from refrigerator 20 to 30 minutes before grilling to reach room temperature.
  4. Preheat grill to high heat at around 450°F for about 10 minutes.
  5. Place marinated strip steaks on the grill and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on one side. Flip when a rich brown crust forms.
  6. Grill the other side for another 3 to 4 minutes until desired doneness is achieved.
  7. Transfer grilled steaks to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  8. Slice steak against the grain and serve with grilled vegetables or baked potatoes.
