Preparation Steps
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef, cooking for about 7–10 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat, stir in marinara sauce, and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 15 ounces of ricotta cheese, ½ cup of grated Parmesan, and 1 large egg. Season with salt and blend until smooth, about 2 minutes.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook 12 lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain and lay flat.
- In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer with 3 noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, and 1 cup of mozzarella. Repeat, finishing with meat sauce and mozzarella on top.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes, until golden.
- Let the lasagna rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing to allow layers to set.

Notes
Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor and allow the lasagna to rest before slicing for cleaner pieces.
