Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack atop the baking sheet.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, water, black pepper, cayenne, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sugar dissolves, creating a sticky glaze. Dredge each bacon strip in this mixture.
  3. Bake the bacon for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Remove and let cool slightly before chopping.
  4. Slice the baguette into approximately ½-inch thick rounds, brush with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  5. Spread a generous layer of goat cheese on each toasted baguette slice. Top with chopped bacon pieces.
  6. Drizzle with maple syrup, honey, or hot honey, and sprinkle with fresh herbs for garnish.
  7. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
