Step-by-Step Instructions for Mushroom Swiss Cheese Meatloaf
- Finely chop mushrooms and sauté in a skillet over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until soft and golden, then remove from heat and let cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, cooled sautéed mushrooms, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.
- Transfer mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or greased baking dish, forming into a loaf shape about 2 inches thick.
- Make a shallow indentation down the center of the meatloaf and fill with shredded Swiss cheese.
- Crumble crispy bacon over the meatloaf, allowing it to fall into the grooves.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake meatloaf for about 1 hour until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Carefully remove from oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
