  • 4 filets Salmon (Alaskan Sockeye or Coho) Fresh or high-quality frozen
  • 2 tablespoons Avocado Oil Olive oil works as an alternative

For the Glaze
  • ½ cup Orange Juice Clementines can be used for a unique twist
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) Fresh garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Maple syrup can be used for vegan option
  • 2 tablespoons Tamari Gluten-free soy sauce alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme (chopped) Dried thyme can be substituted
  • 1 tablespoon Arrowroot Powder Cornstarch can be used as a substitute
  • 2 tablespoons Water For the slurry

Preparation Steps
  1. Pat the salmon filets dry and season with salt and pepper. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the salmon, skin-side down, for 3-4 minutes until crispy.
  3. Flip the salmon filets and cook for another 3-4 minutes until opaque and flaky. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  4. Mix 1 tablespoon of arrowroot powder with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Set aside.
  5. Sauté 2 cloves of minced garlic in the same skillet for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in ½ cup of orange juice, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 tablespoons of tamari, and 1 teaspoon of thyme. Bring to a simmer, then stir in the arrowroot slurry until thickened.
  7. Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the glaze over it, heating through for another minute.
