Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine one packet of active dry yeast with 1/2 cup of warm milk. Let this sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine 3 cups of flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt. Add the proofed yeast mixture and the remaining warm milk. Mix until dough forms, then knead for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare filling by mixing 1/4 cup sugar and the zest of one orange. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, and sprinkle with orange sugar mixture.
  5. Roll the dough from one long edge into a log shape and slice it into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Place rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise for 30-60 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake rolls for 25 minutes until golden brown and springy to the touch.
