  • 1 tsp Baking soda leavening agent
  • 1/2 tsp Salt enhances flavor
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter room temperature
  • 24 pieces Chocolate kisses traditional topping

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine smooth peanut butter, unsalted butter, packed brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until fully combined, scraping down the sides as necessary.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour and baking soda until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll about a tablespoon of dough into a 1-inch ball and place on baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until puffy and cracked on top, slightly underbaked is ideal.
  7. Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each warm cookie.
  8. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
