  • 3 cups Rice Chex Cereal Gluten-free option
For the Candy Coating
  • 1 cup Bright White Candy Melts Avoid yellow-tinted melts
  • 1 cup Green Candy Melts For signature midnight green hue
  • 1 cup Black Candy Melts Ensure they melt completely
For the Coating
  • 1/3 cup Powdered Sugar Key for Puppy Chow texture

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Select three small bowls and measure out the bright white, green, and black candy melts separately for easy access.
  2. Melt the white candy melts in the microwave for about 30 seconds, stirring and heating in 15-second intervals until smooth.
  3. Add ½ cup of Rice Chex cereal to the melted white candy melts, fold until fully coated, then transfer to a resealable bag with ⅓ cup of powdered sugar, seal, and shake to coat.
  4. Spread the coated Rice Chex on parchment paper and allow to cool for about 10 minutes.
  5. Melt the green candy melts following the same process, then add 1 cup of Rice Chex, coat thoroughly, and repeat the shaking and spreading process.
  6. Melt the black candy melts and add another cup of Rice Chex, coat, seal in a bag with ⅓ cup powdered sugar, shake, and spread on parchment to cool for 10 minutes.
