Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine lemon peels, granulated sugar, and cold water. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for about 10 minutes until syrupy. Strain out lemon peels and cool completely.
  2. Boil 4 cups of filtered water in a large pot, remove from heat. Add in the black tea bags and steep for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar until dissolved. Let cool.
  3. In a large pitcher, mix cooled lemon simple syrup with fresh lemon juice. Add chilled brewed tea, pour in 2 cups of cold water, and stir well. Add lemon wheels and ice.
  4. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Serve into glasses filled with ice, garnish with lemon slices or fresh mint leaves.
