  • 1 packet Taco seasoning homemade is a low-sodium alternative
  • 1/2 cup Water
For the Dough
  • 2 can Refrigerated biscuit dough or whole wheat/gluten-free dough
  • 1/4 cup Butter (melted) or olive oil
For the Cheesy Toppings
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese or pepper jack for extra spice
  • 1 cup Shredded Monterey Jack cheese or any melty cheese
For the Fresh Garnish
  • 1/4 cup Chopped green onions or chives
  • 1/4 cup Chopped black olives optional
  • 1 medium Chopped tomatoes or diced bell peppers
Optional Additions
  • 1 cup Sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup Salsa or pico de gallo
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder to taste

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Taco Monkey Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) according to the package instructions for the refrigerated biscuit dough.
  2. In your preheated skillet, add the ground beef over medium heat. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, mixing well. Allow to simmer on low heat for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  4. Roll out the refrigerated biscuit dough and arrange it evenly along the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  5. Spread the seasoned beef mixture over the biscuit dough and sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  7. Once out of the oven, sprinkle chopped green onions, black olives, and diced tomatoes on top.
  8. Melt some butter and drizzle it over the top. Sprinkle with garlic powder and chili powder.
  9. Slice your Taco Monkey Bread into pull-apart pieces and serve hot with sour cream and salsa.
